Jewelry Sales Benefit Charities

A local jewelry designer is hoping to help last minute shoppers and charities this holiday season. Embrace the Difference jewelry is designed with one square connected with interlocking circles. The idea is that one part is a little different, but it is still part of the whole circle.
Robyn Zimmer came up with the design in honor of her son and is hoping it becomes a well known symbol for people with special needs. "I designed this jewelry because I have a son with special needs. He's now 20 years old now," she said. "I saw the struggles he's gone through and so many people in the community have differences and I wanted a way to show acceptance for these people."
Embrace the Difference jewelry is sold online and at Reed's Jenss stores in WNY. $30 per piece goes to the charity of your choice. Zimmer is working with about a dozen different charities right now.
Zimmer says holiday sales are strong and she's working on a new piece for Valentine's Day.
