People with physical ,emotional , developmental disabilities , or chronic illness, face many  challenges. This symbol was designed to show support , acceptance and kindness to people with disabilities and special needs. I am a mother of a child with special needs.  My son is  twenty years old.  He has ADHD, severe learning disabilities and Aspergers syndrome.   In spite of his challenges, my son has shown many accomplishments. He will be graduating  High School with a regents diploma, he won the YMCA youth volunteer award in 2008 , he has made many friends and has a special bond with animals and young children.  None of this would have been possible without the help and support of many kind and loving people who have unconditional acceptance for him.
